Tom Ford

Senior Clinical Psychologist & Founder

Our principal clinical psychologist (Tom Ford), with short brown hair, wearing a dark blue button-up shirt, smiling against a plain light gray background.

I completed my studies and training at the University of Otago (NZ) in 2019 and have been practicing on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia, across a range of private settings since then. I am also a Board Approved Supervisor, and thoroughly enjoy working with fellow mental health clinicians and therapists to develop their practice. I love being able to help those in need, and continuing in my growth and development as a Clinical Psychologist. Following the pandemic and spending a majority of my day providing online services, it became apparent that this was an effective service model that could provide real value to my clients. As such, I’ve decided to start an online-based clinic in an effort to provide the same high-quality service my clients are used to, at a lower cost, and with better availability and flexibility. I am deeply passionate and motivated about improving access to effective healthcare services, with my current goal being to expand my practice and offer high-quality mental health support to the Central Coast and other regional areas throughout NSW.

My therapeutic style is grounded in authenticity, patience, and empathy. I'm genuinely curious about and invested in the lives of my clients, and committed to building meaningful relationships that create the foundation for real and lasting change. I'm committed to being direct and genuine in my approach, and I don’t believe in offering surface-level support or idealistic solutions.

While I hold integrity and professionalism as core values, I’m naturally light-hearted and approachable - and I don’t shy away from a joke when it’s fitting. My work is primarily informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), though I’m always learning and expanding my therapeutic toolkit with a range of evidence-based approaches.

I'm passionate about getting to know each client as a unique individual and tailoring therapy to their specific needs. I aim to go beyond generic advice and offer practical, evidence-based support that’s meaningful and relevant to your life - something friends or family may not always be able to provide.

My main areas of interest and expertise include:
